New Trainer Mentoring
Setting out in a new career direction can feel lonely but you never need to be alone.
I'm no stranger to career change. First I left the law and then I embarked on a journey to become a professional dog trainer. I remember well what it was like when I started to offer my training services - on an island 30 miles out to sea no less. I was, and remain, the only certified professional dog trainer on Nantucket who is accredited by the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers. I didn't have much choice but to "dive into the deep end". Luckily, I had made some fabulous connections through the Victoria Stilwell Dog Training Academy, knew people who I could ask for guidance, and was given an incredible learning opportunity from an established trainer on Nantucket. It can be scary to venture in a new direction but if your heart is guiding you, it will absolutely be worth it. I appreciate not everyone might have the resources I had, and so I want to share my experiences and help other new trainers just starting out on the dog training path.
With over 6 years' experience of teaching private and group training sessions, and 3 years acting as a Faculty Advisor for the Victoria Stilwell Dog Training Academy, I have valuable knowledge and experience to share and a desire to help you become the very best trainer you can be. My mentoring services are intended to provide you with a supportive colleague and feedback on your training questions. Think of me as your virtual colleague - the one with whom you'd have coffee, chat with at the water cooler, take a walk with at lunch, or enjoy a cocktail after work.

Pricing
There are other mentor programs available but I understand that money can be tight when you first set out. Level 1 mentoring is designed to help you in your first 6 months, level 2 is for anyone who has had a training business for over 6 months but less than 2 years. If you really just have one thing on your mind then we can do that too (a single 1 hour session). With Level 1 and Level 2, you'll have access to up to 5 hours/month of online support to be used according to your needs. Do you want to meet once a week for an hour to discuss any training concerns? You got it. Would you prefer to share 45 minutes of video footage and ask me for constructive feedback? That's fine too. Would you like to meet weekly to hold you accountable on your marketing strategy? We can do that. The time is yours, and I'll share mine with you as you'd prefer. But just so we're clear, if you're looking for specific legal or marketing advice (for example), those are conversations to be had with other professionals. I'm your virtual training colleague!
